Extracurricular Activities

Sports
Our sports program has something for everyone, from the highly motivated athlete to the backyard ballplayer.

French Camp Academy competes in the 1A classification of the Mississippi High School Activities Association in these varsity sports: football, basketball, cross country, baseball, track, tennis, and softball. Football has a cheerleading program, as well.

The junior high program for the 7th and 8th grades offers training and competition in football, basketball, and baseball.

Students interested in non-competition intramural programs have many activities to choose from including tennis, basketball, Frisbee golf, horseback riding, and swimming, plus other planned activities or pick-up games on campus.

The Arts, Music and More

In addition to sports, French Camp students can participate in a wide variety of other activities.

  • Through our equine program, students can take riding lessons, learn to care for horses, go on trail rides, and even can learn vaulting and barrel racing. A 38,000 square foot covered horse arena allows riding in any weather.
  • Music is an important part of French Camp. Choral music is part of the curriculum, and private lessons are available in piano, violin, fiddle, guitar, and voice.
  • Art classes are offered as part of the curriculum.
  • Volunteer and paid work opportunities are available at the Council House Restaurant, WFCA radio, Rainwater Observatory, Double Blessings Thrift Shop, Children of God Pottery Studio, and the horse program.
